TikTok: AI content disclosure

TikTok currently provides full native AI labeling: AI-generated content (AIGC) label — Required for AI-generated content containing realistic images, audio or video. On top of platform policy, EU AI Act Article 50(4) requires disclosure of realistic synthetic media resembling real persons, objects, places or events.

Legal layer vs platform policy
EU AI Act Article 50(4) requires deployers to disclose realistic AI-generated or manipulated image, audio or video resembling real persons, objects, places or events. Article 50 obligations apply from 2 August 2026.
Platform policy is separate: it governs what the platform itself requires or removes, and it can change independently of the law. Keep evidence of both layers per asset.
Before you publish
- Open post settings on the final screen before publishing.
- Toggle “AI-generated content (AIGC)” on.
- Keep the native label on — do not crop or edit it away in re-uploads.
- For scheduler posts, verify the label survived; otherwise publish in-app.
Known limitations / uncertainty
TikTok labels content created with its own AI effects automatically; external tools rely on creator disclosure or metadata detection.
